"Reply to owners response: Instead of addressing the lack of communication and overall customer experience, you chose to publicly share details about my policies and personal situation that did not need to be disclosed in a public forum. That level of detail is inappropriate and raises concerns about how customer information is being handled and communicated. My concern has consistently been about how this was handled—the lack of clear communication, inconsistent information, and the dismissive tone—not your internal policies. A more appropriate response would have been to acknowledge the experience and offer to resolve it offline. Instead, this reinforces the lack of professionalism, discretion, and care that led to this situation in the first place. For clarity, I did not state that I was married—I referred to him as my partner. Adding assumptions publicly only adds to the concern. Given the nature of this response, I will be exploring additional avenues to ensure this situation is reviewed appropriately. Original review; After years with Danny Pulaski State Farm, I found out they dropped my home coverage and removed discounts only because I called—with zero notice and zero empathy after my partner passed away……. This is one of the most frustrating customer service experiences I’ve had—and I will be switching providers. After my partner passed away, I initially contacted the office to update my homeowner’s policy since the home had been transferred into my name. During that first call, the manager, Greg, referred to my partner as my father. I corrected him, and there was no apology—just indifference—which set the tone from the beginning. At that time, the home was still being treated as owner-occupied. I later clarified it would become a rental and was told it would need to go through underwriting. Fast forward to today—I called simply because I received three different auto policy quotes with three different prices and needed clarification. Instead, I ended up finding out—during that call—that they would not insure the home at all due to “too many investments in the area” and not wanting to take it on as a rental. No one reached out to explain this. No call. No follow-up. I was later told an email was sent at the end of March—but I never received it, and no one made any effort to ensure I was actually informed of such a major decision. At the same time, they removed my multi-car discount—even though the homeowner’s policy is paid through July—again, without any communication beforehand. When I tried to address this with Greg, he stated he was the manager and made it clear there was nowhere else to go. His tone throughout was dismissive, nonchalant, and completely lacking empathy. So to summarize: * Disrespectful interaction from the start, including no acknowledgment after a personal correction * Conflicting auto quotes with no clear explanation * Major coverage decision only communicated after I called * Claimed email notice that was never received—and no attempt to follow up * Loss of discounts without explanation Loyal customers deserve clear communication and basic respect—especially during a difficult life transition. This was handled poorly across the board, and I will be taking my business elsewhere."

We would like to clarify a few points to ensure there is no misunderstanding: • State Farm did not drop your home coverage. The home insurance policy in your late partner’s name remains active. Since you and your partner indicated you were not legally married, you do not have access to his policy as you are not the named insured, which is standard practice to protect policyholder security. • You are not listed as a named insured on your partner’s home policy, so notifications are sent only to the named insured. This explains why you did not receive direct notices about changes. • We have reviewed our records and found that there was only one call with you yesterday. During that call, the manager did not refer to your partner as your father; that statement is not accurate. • When you called about the three different auto policy notifications, it was explained that since your partner has passed away, he is no longer eligible to be rated as a driver on your auto policy. This change affected your eligibility for the multi-line discount, which we understand was disappointing. • Regarding the rental property insurance request, our office did contact you directly to inform you that the home location is currently ineligible for rental property insurance, and we additionally emailed you the declination notice. While we regret that the conversation ended abruptly on your behalf, we did make an effort to communicate this decision. • The mail you received serves as proof of notification regarding policy changes. We strive to ensure all customers are informed in a timely manner. We regret that your experience did not meet your expectations and appreciate your feedback as it helps us improve. "I have been a State Farm customer since I was 16 years old, and with this agency for several years, but I have decided to make a change based on my experience on a small claim that was denied. After making a claim and send over a couple of documents that were asked, my claim was denied, I even had the dealership that I’m having the repair fixed reach out to the agency to see if they could help get the claim resolved but was told there was nothing they could do. I’m so disappointed that after all of these years of being with this agency and State Farm that there is no sense of loyalty or willingness to fight to get this claim resolved."

"I was a customer for a while since I had a friend who worked there before and helped get me a great deal. I stayed on for a while, but found a better deal elsewhere. It seemed cool, then the time came for renewal. The first couple of cycles, they seemed to understand. Then the latest renewal came in August. I chose to stay with the provider I had switched to and State Farm called, asking if I'd return. I told them once (about a month ago) that I was happy with what I had. Didn't seem like a big deal, but since then, I've been getting at least one call a day from them (sometimes even 2-3) like they were some psycho ex-girlfriend or something. I already I told them I switched and was happy, so why do you insist on blowing me up so much?!?!?! This kind of action makes me not want to consider switching back, even if I got a better deal from y'all."
